Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 23, 2026

Our Privacy Promise

At **PlatinumPDF**, privacy isn't a feature—it's our foundation. We believe that your sensitive documents should never leave your device. Our architecture is fundamentally different from traditional online PDF tools. While others ask you to "upload" your files to their servers, we bring the tools to your browser.

Zero Server Uploads

Technically, PlatinumPDF is a "Serverless" document utility. All processing—merging, splitting, OCR, and compression—happens entirely within your web browser's memory using WebAssembly and Javascript.

  • Your files are never transmitted to our servers.
  • We do not store, copy, or "peek" at your documents.

What We Collect

Because we don't process your files on our servers, we have very little to collect.

Anonymous Analytics

We use basic analytics (like Google Analytics) to understand how many people use our tools. This data is aggregated and does not contain any personal information or document data. We track *which* tools are used (e.g., "Merge PDF was used"), but never *what* was in the file.

Local Storage

We may use your browser's LocalStorage to save your UI preferences (like Dark Mode or "Recent Tools"). This stays on your computer and is never sent to us.

Browser-Level Security

By processing files locally, we inherit the security model of your web browser. This means your operating system's file permissions and the browser's sandbox act as a protective barrier for your data. For maximum privacy, you can even use our tools while disconnected from the internet once the page has loaded.

Technical Architecture

High-Performance Wasm

We utilize WebAssembly (Wasm) via `pdf-lib` to perform complex binary operations on your PDF files. This allows us to achieve near-native performance while keeping all file data localized to your CPU and RAM.

Neural OCR & Extraction

For tools like "Searchable PDF" or "Smart Scan," we use Tesseract.js and OpenCV. These neural engines are downloaded to your browser once and execute locally, ensuring your images never leave the application.
